Koherent

Koherent

Simply put, Koherent represent the beautiful diversity that has engulfed modern drum & bass. Consisting of Josh and Luke, the duo decided to fuse their respective solo projects and a shared passion for soulful minimalism and serious sleekness after meeting in Leeds.

After being cited as UKF's 'Ones To Watch for 2018', which came soon after their debut single on SGN:LTD in 2017, a double-sided rollout that turned heads from QZB to Lenzman, they have gone on to consistently shine versatility in their productions from rolling dancefloor to liquid soul vibes.

2018 and 2019's appearances on Dispatch and Flexout Audio came next. The former 'Depth Charge' EP was four tracks of dancefloor-friendly, percussion-focused engineering which channelled a darker, more foreboding side to their stylistic trajectory. It was this emphatic showing, combined with the superb 'Morph' EP on Bassi's Flexout, which saw them enter the Shogun Audio camp in late 2019. For Friction to nominate them as part of Shogun's new vanguard says all you need to know about their talent, an obvious fact further confirmed by their debut EP 'Turning Point'.

With Charli Brix's now infamous vocal fervour on the liquid delight of 'Voices', Koherent have stamped their mark on one of the genre's great labels. 2020 saw the release of their 'Second Storm' EP, their most focused release yet. Releases such as the synthwave-inspired liquid with a night-time vibe of 'Bliss' and superb rolling bliss of 'Endless Haze' have continued this trajectory in the strongest of fashions.

The future is bright for Koherent as they continue to become a familiar name in the drum and bass community.
